30 Day Coloring Challenge

This is my project for the 30 Day Coloring Challenge – Day 8. Lately, I’ve been looking for inspiration.

A couple of weeks ago, I stamped out a bunch of images from some new-to-me stamp sets and sat on the couch coloring.  These cute kitties and their shelf of books were among the images I colored but didn’t make anything from.

I also signed up for a couple of collabs and swaps and I’m trying out “TheDailyMarker.com” 30-day coloring challenge.

So, today’s project is a combination of inspirational sources.

I had just received Brutus Monroe’s Library Background stamp.  What could be more perfect for these little kitties?!!

We have TheDailyMarker challenge giving me inspiration.

Plus we have this adorable library stamp. Add to that we have a collaboration that I’m taking part in from the “Craft Collab” Facebook Group.

The goal of the collaboration is to find inspiration in your partner’s work.  My partner is Kelly Parker. (Be sure to check out her Blog, Youtube, and Instagram!)

A lot of her designs have a distressed look or use distressed ink with layerings of stencils or stamps.  I decided to use the destress Oxide with stamping for my project.

I used Distress Oxide Ink in Peacock Feathers, Vintage Photo and Frayed Burlap to color a scrap piece of white cardstock.

Then used the library background stamp with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and WOW! Clear Gloss Embossing Powder over the inked background.  I love the result.

Then I cut the completed panel in half so I could use it for 2 cards and not waste any of it.

I adhered the bookshelf and kitty to the front and popped the panel up with some foam tape.  I also added some Mod Podge Dimensional Magic to the kitties’ glasses.  I’ll add sentiments to it later before I send them to a new home.   🙂
