Today I’ll be showing you how you can make Planner Folder inserts with an Envelope Punch Board!
We always need a little additional storage in our planners. I decided to make a couple of folders for mine. They even have pockets so loose things don’t fall out as easily.
I use mine to hold post-its on the inner side (so they don’t get knocked off as easy). Also, you could organize important pages by punching them and holding them inside, just like a normal folder. Awesomeness!
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own planner folders:
- A 12 X 12 sheet of Scrapbook paper
- Envelope punch board
- Paper trimmer or scissors
- Scoring board
- Strong adhesive
- Hole punch for your type of planner
(I’ll include links to the supplies that I used later in the post)
Video Tutorial

Here’s how to make planner folders
Start with 1 sheet of 12 x 12 scrapbook paper.

STEP 1: Using your scoreboard, score the 12 x 12 paper it at 6 inches and fold in half on the scored line.

STEP 2: With the envelope punch board, punch on the open side to make your tab.
STEP 3: Trim the excess, leaving just the tab on that edge.
STEP 4: We are also making a pocket. Measure a divider or other insert to know where to place the fold.
STEP 5: Score at the mark
STEP 6: Fold at the mark and burnish the fold.
STEP 7: Trim the excess at the fold
STEP 8: Adhere the pockets in place (outer edge) with a strong adhesive… I’m using score-tape.
STEP 9: Trim, if needed, for perfection 🙂
Done! Just punch the holes for your planner, and it’s ready to use.
