She writes “ Always send a letter! We want to get to know you.”
She is so right. It’s probably the hardest thing to do when you are sending happy mail to a swap partner or new pen pal that you don’t really know yet. But how will they get to know you if you don’t tell them about yourself?
Also, my best tip is to use single baseball card sleeves to make your shaker pockets and then slide into the actual Pocket letter.
Just trim a little off the top of the sleeve & add your favorite washi folded over (to seal it) and then insert it where you want it to go.

I totally love that idea. (I don’t currently have a tutorial, so click the pic for one I found online)
Making a separate shaker “pouch” to go into the sleeve pocket makes is so much easier on you while creating your pocket letter, and it gives them an extra goodie to use on a future project. It also gives the shaker bits an extra layer of protection so that they don’t go all over the place in the mail.
Thank you so much, Maricela, for sharing your ideas, tips, and tricks with us!
