Hey there, crafty friends! Are you ready for a little Halloween crafting fun? Today I’m sharing a playful light-up Halloween card featuring a very cute—and just a little bit scared—cat! This A2-sized card combines the Scaredy Cat die set, the Spooky Web 3D Embossing Folder, and a few special details to make the whole design glow.

Both the Scaredy Cat die set, including the bonus item, and the Spooky Web 3D Embossing Folder are from the August 2026 Club Crate. And with a Pear Blossom Press Easy Light mechanism, this little kitty’s eyes light up along with the jack-o’-lantern pumpkin!

Let’s Make This Halloween Card Glow!

The magic is all in the details. I added green vellum behind the cat’s eyes and light yellow vellum behind the pumpkin face so the light shines through with a fun Halloween glow.

To give our Scaredy Cat plenty of personality, I added a purple collar with a gold clasp, a mini skull tag, and the tiniest little white teeth. Those small details really make this cat come to life—and I think he is absolutely adorable!

Create the Spooky Web Background

For the background, I embossed orange cardstock with the Spooky Web 3D Embossing Folder. Then I used a purple ink treatment over the raised spiderweb design with a brayer or ink-pad technique. The purple over the orange creates a wonderfully spooky contrast and makes the web stand out beautifully.

Make It Interactive!

Now for my favorite part—the lights! I used a Pear Blossom Press Easy Light mechanism to illuminate the cat’s eyes and the little jack-o’-lantern pumpkin.

The push button is positioned right behind the skull embellishment on the front of the card. When the recipient presses the skull, the cat’s eyes and pumpkin light up. How fun is that? It feels like a little bit of Halloween magic right at your fingertips!

A Handy Battery Replacement Door

Because the recipient may want to enjoy this card again and again, I built a hidden battery replacement door on the back. I used the doorway die from the Pear Blossom Press Stamp & Die Bundle, creating a convenient way to replace the battery later without taking the entire card apart.
