Hey there, crafty friends! It’s Debbie J here from Debbie J’s Crafting Corner, and today I’m bringing a little extra “spark” to a beautiful BetterPress scene.

I’ve always loved the elegant, professional look of the Spellbinders BetterPress system, but I wanted to see if I could take it a step further by adding some interactive light! By combining the Windmills and Tulips press plate with Pear Blossom Press EZ-Lights, I was able to make those windmill windows actually glow.
Lighting Up the Scene
After pressing and stenciling this lush pasture of tulips, I used a 3-light EZ-Light unit to place a warm glow behind each windmill window. To keep the card mailable, I used World’s Best Foam Tape—it provides just enough room for the battery pack without making the card too bulky for a standard envelope.

The sentiment “Hope this card brightens your day” couldn’t be more perfect for a card that literally shines!
Watch the Magic Happen!
I’ve put together a full video tutorial where you can see exactly how this card comes together — including how to easily add a secret DOOR so that replacing the battery can be super accessible and easy for your recipient (or you… do you have trouble letting absolutely beautiful cards go? Let me know in the comments!).
Sneak Peek!
Here is a little peek INSIDE the card so you can see how EASY the Halo Light is… plus a look at the completed card!

More Inspiration
I’ve included some close-up photos of the finished card so you can really see the light-up effect and all the fun details.
If you give this technique a try, I’d love to see what you create! Share your projects in our Facebook group or tag us on Instagram.

Thanks for joining me in some crafty Fun! I hope that I have inspired you to create something great!
Because, If I can make it, You Can Too!
