Hi guys, it’s Debbie with Debbie J’s Crafting Corner, and today, I’m stepping a bit out of my comfort zone and playing with the Storytelling Scrapbooking Collection by Spellbinders. While I’m not a scrapbooker, I just couldn’t resist the adorable dies and embellishments from this collection, so I had to give them a try for cardmaking.
Crafting Process
I started by die-cutting several pieces from the collection using my new Magnetic Magic Mat, which made it super easy to line up the dies. Once everything was cut out, I brought them to life with ink, markers, and a little creativity. From dog tags to cameras, I had a lot of fun adding color and personality to these embellishments.
One card design that popped into my mind was a military-themed Christmas card, using the sentiment “Home for the Holidays.” I thought it would be great to pair this with the dog tags from the Badges of Honor set.
And speaking of the camera from the Say Cheese set, I had so much fun playing around with colors and elements. I even had my live audience on Twitch help me decide whether to make the camera red or blue. (Spoiler: Red won!)

While scrapbooking might not be my usual go-to, playing with this collection was a blast! It just goes to show that even if a set is marketed for one type of craft, it can easily be adapted for another. I hope you give this collection a try and find your own unique way to make it part of your cardmaking arsenal!
