Let’s Organize Our Stash! How I Store and Organize my Embossing Folders

Happy New Year!

Now it’s time to get our stuff organized to it’s easier to find… for play time!

Today I’ll be working on my embossing folder stash and showing how I’m storing and organizing my embossing folders!

Most of my embossing folders are A2 sized.  So that’s where I started.  I think this is the most readily available size. 

First I created a folder and “swatch” of sorts for each embossing folder. 

I ran some inexpensive cardstock and embossing folders through my die cut machine (Sizzix Big Kick or Gemini Junior). 

I’m using this “swatch” as the front of the folder. 

For the rest of the folder, I cut a 8 1/2 x 11 inch piece of cardstock in half at 5 1/2. Then I scored and folded it at 1 1/2 inches.

Of course, I have since changed my mind.  I was holding the embossing folders vertically in these folders. 

Now I’m switching to horizontal.  This will work for most of my embossing folders.

If you go with this shorter design, you’ll cut your cardstock to 7 x 5 1/2 inches.  But still score and fold at 1 1/2 inches.

Then you adhere the bottom of your embossed panel to the 1 1/2 inch flap.

For storing my embossing folders, I’m using plastic shoeboxes from Michaels.  

What I like these shoeboxes is that the width is perfect to hold these.  But I wasn’t able to stack them.  

With the shorter folders, it should correct that issue.  🙂
