Today I’m going to show you how I created this beautiful but Simple Layered Flower Card. Because, if I can make it, YOU CAN TOO!
If you’ve followed my recent posts and videos, then you know that I’ve been diving into my stash and using some of the multitude of stamps that I bought ages ago, but have never used.
Today’s card is made using another layering stamp set from Hampton Arts.
For those of you that haven’t tried layering stamps, you should really give it a try. I have been intimidated by the awesome results that I’ve seen in videos and have had trouble getting the layering just right too… this may be because I’m a bit of a perfectionist with a touch of OCD.
What I’m finding is that, if you use a stamp platform, keep your paper in place when stamping, and practice, you can have incredible results. I was shocked at how pretty this layered flower turned out. (and this was actually created BEFORE my layered flamingo… the practice making this card design helped so much in creating the flamingo cards. If you haven’t seen it yet, check out my Hello Beautiful Layered Flamingo Blog Post and Video.)
Another secret that I feel I should share with you is this:
I used this design for a custom card order (30 cards) for a realtor friend of mine. So I did get a bit of practice when creating those cards.
So I recommend giving it a try, and some practice. It’s a lot quicker to create a colorful stamp layered card than it is to create a card using alcohol markers or colored pencils… especially if you are OCD like me. 🙂
