Does the Foil Quill Work With the ScanNCut?  Let’s Find Out! Today we are going to take a look at the WeR Memory Keepers Foil Quill.

Let’s see if it will work in my electronic cutting machine, the Brother ScanNCut SDX125.

First, we’ll go through what’s in the box.

The contents panel

The contents panel on the side of the box says that there should be 3 sizes of the USB heat pens.

1. Standard (1.5mm)
2. Fine (0.5mm)
3. Bold (2.5mm). 

Also included are:

1. 4 cutting machine adapters
2. 3 heat activated foil rolls in Gold, Silver and Rose Gold
3. placement tape
4. a heat resistant plate
5. Instruction Manual

The other side panel

Then, on the other side panel, it says that they work with the following electronic cutting machines:

1. Cricut
2. Silhouette
3. Brother (YAY)
4. and Sizzix.

So this should work great with my machine.

Let’s open up the box and take a look.

Foil

First there is the foil.  As advertised, there are 3 colors.

Adapters

All three are there.  According to the manual, the adapter with a “B” on it is for the Brother ScanNCut, to that’s the one I’ll be using in a bit.

I recommend reading the manual. It’s pretty short. I only glanced at the manual before trying it out. I think I was too excited about this new tool. Coming up, I’ll show you what I missed by NOT reading it.

Heat Pens

Then there are the 3 USB heat pens. 

1. The pink is the fine tip
2. The light blue is the standard tip
3. The dark blue is the bold tip.

Check out the finished card.  Foiling, Wink-of-Stella and Perfect Pearls. Plus a couple of die-cut circles and a few gems. And the card is done.
