Welcome back! In today’s project, we will create Traveler’s Notebook signatures, or notebooks, to go inside.

I mean, you do need something to write on, right?  Here are the supplies that you will need for this project.

Here’s how you can create your own.

  1. First, pick out some pattern paper that will become the cover for each of your notebooks. You’ll want 4 notebooks, and 1 sheet of pattern paper can make 2 notebooks… or you could pick 2 different designs…. Or design your own! You have lots of options. You could use digital pattern paper printed on cardstock, or your own artwork. You could even use coloring pages
  2. Next cut to size. For the inserts to fit the cover we made last week, cut your pattern paper to 6 by 8 inches.
  3. Take 6 sheets of printer paper, and cut them at 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 inches (which means cutting them in half on the long side)
  1. Fold down the center. The folded booklet should now measure 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 (for the printer paper) and 5 1/2 by 8 (for the pattern paper.
  2. Place the folded printer paper inside the folded pattern paper.
  3. Trim the excess from the side away from the fold (see the video). This should make a little notebook measuring 5 1/2 tall by 3 1/2 in wide.
  4. Staple on the fold near the top and bottom. Because the notebook is 3 1/2 in wide, it should be perfect for using a standard stapler.
  5. Finally round the corners.

Your first notebook is complete!

You’ll want to make 4 of them to fill your traveler’s notebook. A fun idea would be to use different types of paper for these.

You could use pre-printed inserts, lined or dotted pages, or sketch pad paper.  You could even use watercolor paper!  (if you use a thicker paper, you’ll want to reduce the number of pages because it will be thicker, harder to cut through, and more difficult to staple.

Thanks for dropping by and crafting with me today!  Crafting with friends is always so much fun and I can’t wait to get together with you again soon.

Be sure enter my GiveAway by following the instructions in the video series (see the link above) and to check back soon!  I’ll be creating more fun things to add to your traveler’s notebook as part of this series.

In the meantime, I’d like to invite you to join me and some other crafty people in my “Crafting with Debbie” Facebook group.  It’s going to be so much fun!

I’ll be giving my members sneak peeks and early offerings of lots of crafty goodness.  And I’ll be hosting live crafting events (still in the planning stage right now) that you can participate in.  We’d love to have you join us!
