Let’s Create Cards that Show off your Art!

Hi! I’m Debbie and I’m a Spellbinders-a-holic! OK… I’m joking… a little. I love all the fun Spellbinders products that I get to play with. I hope you’ll enjoy today’s project.

This project is just one of the posts and videos where I show you some of the FIRST projects that I create using the fun goodies that Spellbinders sent me as a member of their Spellbinders Club Influencer Group.

For my cards, I’m using the NEW Colorblock Background Collection Dies from the April 2022 Spellbinders New Releases.

You’ll have to tell me which card you like best.

Show off your Art using the Color Block Slimline Edges Dies

I used the NEW Color Block Slimline Edges Dies for my first few cards. There are two dies in the set. One creates a zig-zag border and the other creates a scalloped edge.

While I’ve been under the weather, I pulled out my alcohol inks and started to play… all while binge-watching Alcohol Ink videos on YouTube. This helped me to see why I wasn’t getting the results that I wanted and how to improve (in my eyes anyway) the final panel. I love how they turned out!

This card idea requires me to cut one! So I set it firmly in my mind that it was ok, that I can always create more, and that the panels were created to be USED.

No waste here! I used one smaller panel to create two fantastic cards!

I used the same basic design, some foil cardstock, solid cardstock and an embossing folder to create a third card using the scalloped edge die.

Show off your Art using the Colorblock Cloudscape Dies

About six months to a year ago, I pulled out some watercolors and created an easy rainbow background… and, again, I never used it. I would pull it out when making a card, but no ideas came that I thought would be good for the panel. Now it’s NOT anything super exciting. But it DOES show that I’m able to blend some colors into a pretty rainbow. Also, the panel is about twice the size of an a2 card and the colors span the entire panel… so I’ve put off cutting it.

Mindset is key! Just like the alcohol ink background, I just had to get my head straight and just cut it! Then I layered the clouds that I cut using the dies and layered them on some foam.

Each card received a foiled chipboard or heat embossed sentiment and some sequins or gems to finish them off.
