Hi everyone, it’s Debbie from Debbie J’s Crafting Corner! I am so excited to share with you all the amazing projects I created using the Spellbinders July 2023 Club kits. This month we are Celebrating Christmas in July! It’s a great time to get started on your holiday crafting!

Pine Cones & Holly Clear Stamp and Die of the Month

The Clear Stamp and Die of the Month set, “Pine Cones & Holly,” is perfect for mass producing your Christmas Cards. I chose to use heat embossing and simple coloring for these quick and easy cards.

For the background on each of these cards, I used the Embossing Folder of the Month, “Christmas Wrap Pattern“. I also tried out a fun technique using Lisa Horton Interference Ink… you HAVE to TRY this!

Glimmering Christmas Flora” Glimmer of the Month

You guys know how much I love my glimmer. Check out the Glimmer of the Month set, “Glimmering Christmas Flora.” It is just so pretty and, again, so easy to mass-produce cards. I just love the shine that the foil brings. It just steps up a simple design and makes the cards so special.

Stitched Snowflake Cardfront” Stitching Die of the Month

The Stitching Die of the month, “Stitched Snowflake Cardfront“, is a little more challenging. But, if you love stitching, you are going to LOVE this die. It creates a super pretty snowflake with stitched detailing.

To be honest, I’m not too good at stitching…yet! And I used sewing thread instead of floss. The Gold thread is super pretty, but I did struggle a bit with it getting tangled! If you use floss instead, it would be a LOT easier to get this lovely result.

I also tried out inking the background cover plate with Lisa Horton Interference inks on this one too. It’s really cool how the blue ink pad produces a shimmery gold on dark cardstock! I’ll be playing with this ink more and more to see what kind of beautiful effects it can create.

Layered Poinsettia Tree” Die of the Month

Now this set was super fun to play with. The “Layered Poinsettia TreeDie of the Month, is my first new set that creates a “tree” for 2023. And it has a star as the tree topper. The layered flowers are super pretty… but as soon as I saw the star I knew that I HAD to make a light up card using a One-Light from PearBlossom Press.

If you haven’t tried light up cards yet, I hope you’ll give this easy card a try. I’ve tried using copper tape and LEDs to make light up cards in the past… and it definitely works… but sometimes my crafty brain just forgets the HOW. With PearBlossom Press lights, it’s super easy to make amazing cards without having to remember how to make a circuit work.

Stocking Full of Joy” Large Die of the Month

The Large Die of the Month set,Stocking Full of Joy,” is just stupid stinking cute! You get all the dies to create a fun stocking that is filled with gingerbread men, candy canes and little Gnomes! Plus all of the foliage that Spellbinders is pretty much known for. I had so much fun creating this fun card!

I had so much fun creating different projects with these kits! One of my favorites was a rainbow confetti foil sentiment over a panel that I had previously used for a Fourth of July project. I also experimented with direct-to-paper coloring techniques and layered die-cuts for a fun, dimensional effect.

Merry Christmas in July
