Hi everyone, it’s Debbie from Debbie J’s Crafting Corner! I am so excited to share with you all the amazing projects I created using the Spellbinders May 2023 Club kits. This month’s kits are all about birthdays and balloons, and let me tell you, it is so much fun!
“All About You Wishes” Clear Stamp and Die of the Month
The Clear Stamp and Die of the Month set, “All About You Wishes,” is just adorable. It includes all the elements you need to create cute birthday cards, such as party balloons, a cupcake, party hats, and even sentiments like “Today is all about you,” “Hip hip hooray,” and “Make a wish.” The dies are also very versatile, allowing you to cut out different sections of the stamp so you can layer them up and create different looks.
I love how you can mix and match the different elements of the stamp and die set to create unique designs. For example, you can cut out the individual birthday hats and presents and even the cupcake to create a layered effect. You can also use the sentiments alone or with the other images to create fun and playful messages for the recipient.
“Balloons & Birthday Wishes” Large Die of the Month
The Large Die of the Month set, “Balloons and Birthday Wishes,” is just as amazing. It includes a banner, balloons, flowers, and additional sentiments that you can layer up for a dimensional effect. The dies also cut out the strings for the banners, making it easy to create a layered look. I love how this set also includes additional pieces so you can make it as layered as you want.
“Balloons & Banners” 3D Embossing Folder of the Month
I also loved the Embossing Folder of the Month, which is all about balloons. The raised edges on the folder give your projects a fun, textured look that is perfect for birthday cards. You can use it as a background or focal point and add a sentiment over it for a complete look.
“Silhouette Balloon Greetings” Glimmer of the Month
And let’s not forget the Glimmer of the Month set, “Silhouette Birthday Greetings.” This set is so much fun to play with! You can create your own die-cut balloons and add sentiments like “Happy Birthday” or “Make a Wish” right onto the balloons. The foil finish adds an extra layer of shine to your projects, making them pop!
I had so much fun creating different projects with these kits! One of my favorites was a rainbow confetti foil sentiment over a panel that I had previously used for a Fourth of July project. I also experimented with direct-to-paper coloring techniques and layered die-cuts for a fun, dimensional effect.
