Today I'm participating in the Spellbinders Jane Davenport Blog Hop and I'm so excited!

Spellbinder contacted me a little while ago and asked me to try out some products.  The first that I get to share with you are from Jane Davenport!

The items that were sent to me are:

I’ve been interested in Jane Davenport products but had never tried them before.  I have to say that I’m loving this!

Cards using the Chilled Palette Pastel Set

I’ve never used pastels before…. well, I think I’ve picked up a pastel stick and decided it was too messy.  So that set that I was given so long ago is still sitting in my stash.

So I’m finally giving them a try.

First through stencils.  Then applied to stamped embossing ink.  Can you imaging my face when I tried this?

Next I pulled out the Magic Wand Colored Pencils

I’ve seen colored pencils layered over other mediums, but had never tried it myself… until today.

I used the pastels to color block through a stencil, and added colored pencil to better define the shapes and add a little more dimension. These pencils are highly pigmented and easy to layer.

Then I added the “Oh Happy Day” hot foil sentiment, and the card is complete.

It turned out so pretty!

Now for some Watercolor

The colored pencil worked so well over the pastels that I decided to try the same technique over watercolor.

First, I swatched out the watercolors onto the swatch card that’s included in the set.  I was amazed at how pigmented it is!

And the pencils helped to better define the images.  WOW!

I love all of the Jane Davenport products that I’ve tried so far.  (and my wish list is getting longer)

  1. You’ve shared some gorgeous cards using stencils and these supplies, so bright and cheerful!

  2. Very pretty cards! I especially love the floral designs! Pretty style for the foiled sentiment too!

  3. Wonderful cards Debbie! I’ve never tried pastels before as I’m basically an ink user for cards, although watercolour is my favourite medium of all when I see it used in basically any project. The last card really grabbed me with the vibrancy of colour that are in Jane’s watercolour markers. They are now on a wish list.
