Spellbinders Christmas Traditions Collection

Today I’m using the Spellbinders September 2021 New Release Christmas Traditions Collection and creating some Holiday cards.

First Card using the Christmas Traditions Collection

For my first Card, I’m using the Vintage Holidays Stamp set.

I stamped the lady shopper in black ink, and then heat embossed the image with clear embossing powder.  Then I colored her up using some alcohol markers.  I love the way the raised crisp lines make a colored image look so professional.

Then I used the circle die from the Happy Anniversary Vignette Etched Die set to cut out a section of some pattern paper in my stash.  This was the perfect find as the paper had a large “Let it Snow” sentiment and some fun snowflakes.

I added this to a panel that I had previously embossed with a snow flurry embossing folder and distressed with blue ink.

As a final touch, I added some snowflakes cut from silver cardstock and using dies from the Holiday Decorations Etched Dies from the Tis the Season Collection and added some gems from my stash.

Next Card using the Christmas Traditions Collection

For the next card, I used the Holiday Florals Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set from this collection and foiled up some of the poinsettias and pine branches using Starburst glimmer hot foil. I bought the foil as part of the Shimmering Holiday Variety Pack, and I’m so glad it’s now available on it’s own… it’s so pretty, I was afraid that I’d run out before the rest of the pack!

For the sentiment, I used a stamp from the Home for Christmas Sentiments Clear Stamp, and added some ink to the background for a little color.  Then I positioned my florals in two of the corners and added some small circles and gems as accents to finish up the card.

Final Card using the Christmas Traditions Collection

For my final card, I used the Holiday Florals Background Glimmer Plates from the collection.  This set is just made for card making!  It creates a poinsettia border on one long, and one short side of an A2 Card.  I used it twice, adding the florals on all sides of my card panel in red foil.  The card panel I used was a pretty plain blue gel print…I’m still learning!

I also added a sentiment from this glimmer set to the center of the panel.  Then I decided that the foil just didn’t pop enough.  So I created an inked vignette over all of those red poinsettias.  That dark blue ink really made the foil pop!

I matted the panel on some red foil cardstock, added some of the starburst foil to the edges of my card base using some double sided tape, and adhered everything down.
