Platinum 6 Unboxing

I’ve had a Platinum 6 for a while and I love it.  Recently, though, I had a tiny little piece of plastic break off that holds the carry handle onto the machine.  I requested a replacement part from Spellbinders… but they didn’t have any.  So they sent me a new machine as part of my warranty!

Today I’m sharing what comes in box when you get a Spellbinders Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine.

What’s in the Box

  • Registration reminder – Register your machine to receive a five (5) year warranty AND a $5 off coupon towards your next purchase at Spellbinders
  • Platinum 6 Machine, Spellbinders®
  • Operation Instruction Booklet
  • Standard Platform
  • Two Cutting Plates
  • One Embossing Plate
  • One Embossing Mat
  • Crank Handle

Spellbinders recently released the Universal Plate System for use in the Platinum 6.  There are some big differences between the two sets.

The Universal Plate System has a platform and plates that are longer than the Standard Platform.  And the platform has a removable layer that allows you to use the system for 3D Embossing folders!

The crank handle is in the box but not installed when you receive your machine.  However, it is super easy to install, and a small allen wrench is included in the package so you don’t need any additional tools.

I always use a Magic Mat from Scrapbook.com with my Platinum 6 for die cutting.  It really helps in extending the life of the clear cutting plates.  Since this is a brand new machine, the first thing I should do is try it out.
