Ombre Stamping

For my project today, let’s try some Ombre Stamping on a Spring Card. I love experimenting and it’s been a while since I used this technique. When stamping, I usually stamp an outline image and color it with markers or watercolors. This time, I’m adding a little interest to a solid stamped image by using a couple of complementary colors.

This card is another Design Team Project for the Not2Shabby Shop. I’m using the Flower Truck Clear Stamp from Not2Shabby.

I used a Grassy Hillside Borders Die from Lawn Fawn to create some grass for the side of the road and inked the edge of a cardstock panel with Distress inks in various brown colors (use what you have!).

Then I stamped some pretty pink tulips onto a floral pattern paper background in Deck the Halls (for the stems and leaves) and Prom Queen Lunar Paste (for the flowers). The opacity of the Lunar Paste helps the flowers to stand out on that busy background and adds a little shine too!

For the flowers and butterflies, I used All That Jazz and Suede Shoes Catherine Pooler Ink using the darker blue as an accent. To prevent a harsh line between colors, I used a blending brush. I just LOVE the final result!
